Trump will ask Europe to repay hundreds of billions of dollars in US aid to Ukraine

Donald Trump says Europe will have to pay back the hundreds of billions of dollars Washington has provided to Ukraine and NATO. He made the demand on his personal Social Truth account, arguing that the money was given “for free” and that Europe would repay it if asked.

“Hundreds of billions of dollars were given to Ukraine and NATO, for free, which Europe will pay, if they are only asked. But we will ask for the money, although somewhat late,” Trump wrote on Thursday, September 3. He did not name the European countries he expects to reimburse the United States.
