Tunisia and Ukraine discuss strengthening cooperation and peace efforts

Tunisia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, held a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, on Tuesday. The discussion centered on the multifaceted aspects of cooperation between Tunisia and Ukraine, countries that have maintained diplomatic relations for 35 years.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to bolster trade exchanges and promote economic cooperation, particularly within the agricultural sector, to serve their mutual interests. They also highlighted the need to strengthen academic collaboration, ensuring Tunisian students can pursue their studies in Ukrainian universities under optimal conditions. The conversation also explored ways to enhance the legal framework governing their bilateral relations, aiming to foster a more conducive environment for expanded cooperation.

On a broader geopolitical level, Minister Nafti reaffirmed Tunisia's commitment to supporting international initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. He stressed the importance of adhering to the principles of international legality and the United Nations Charter, advocating for political dialogue as the primary means to achieve peace.
