Tunisia braces for heavy rainfall, especially in the northwest

Tunisia is bracing for significant rainfall as the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) forecasts heavy precipitation across the northern, central, and southeastern parts of the country. Residents in governorates like Mahdia, Sousse, Monastir, Nabeul, Zaghouan, Kef, and Beja should prepare for abundant rainfall, with quantities estimated between 40 and 60 mm, and a possibility of reaching up to 80 mm in Jendouba, where hail is also expected. The INM has also warned of strong winds accompanying thunderstorms in the Jendouba region. The forecast indicates that these rainy conditions will persist into Wednesday, particularly affecting the northern and central areas, with coastal regions, especially in the far northwest, likely to experience heavy downpours.
