Tunisia, China Discuss Academic Cooperation, Scholarships

Tunisia and China are exploring avenues to deepen their academic and university cooperation, with a particular focus on the agricultural sector. The Tunisian embassy in Beijing has been actively engaged in fostering these ties.

Discussions have centered on developing partnerships between Hunan Agricultural University and other Chinese institutions with Tunisian universities. Key areas of collaboration include exchange programs for students, teachers, and researchers across various disciplines such as agricultural engineering, humanities, economics, management, and technology.

Both nations are also examining ways to enhance the training of Tunisian students in China. This includes participation in "Summer Camps" organized by Chinese higher education institutions. Additionally, the Chinese delegation has shown interest in establishing linguistic cooperation programs, enabling Chinese students to study Arabic at Tunisian universities.

The overarching goal is to create bilateral programs that provide Tunisian students with greater access to scholarships in Chinese universities, specifically at Hunan Agricultural University.
