Tunisia Coach Herve Renard Resigns After World Cup Exit

Herve Renard has stepped down as the head coach of the Tunisian national football team following their exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the group stage. Renard announced his departure via social media, concluding his tenure with the North African side.

In his statement, Renard expressed gratitude to the Tunisian Football Federation for the opportunity to participate in the World Cup. "It was a great honor to wear Tunisia's colors," he stated, wishing the team future success. He also thanked everyone who accompanied him on this journey, marking the end of his time with the squad.

Tunisia's World Cup campaign was disappointing, as they lost all three of their group matches. This led to a coaching change mid-tournament. Sabri Lamouchi was dismissed after the first match, a 5-1 defeat to Sweden. Renard then took over, but under his leadership, Tunisia suffered further losses to Japan (4-0) and the Netherlands (3-1), ultimately failing to advance.
