Tunisian Exports to Algeria Reach $1.8 Billion in 2025, Led by Mechanical and Electrical Sectors

Tunisian exports to Algeria hit approximately 1.8 billion dinars in 2025, with the mechanical and electrical sectors accounting for over 55% of this figure, according to Anis Belhaj Zekri, director of the Tunisian Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) in Algeria.

This trade milestone reflects a steady growth in commercial exchanges between the two nations. Bilateral trade has seen a significant upward trend, increasing from 6.3 billion dinars in 2023 to 7.7 billion in 2024, and reaching 8.3 billion dinars in 2025. Zekri highlighted that this dynamic signifies the strengthening of economic ties and the diversification of trade flows.

The range of Tunisian exports to Algeria is broad, with a strong emphasis on mechanical and electrical products. Raw materials, industrial inputs, and accessories, particularly fabrics for workwear and safety equipment, are also increasingly important. CEPEX is actively encouraging Tunisian companies to participate in the Algiers International Fair, offering subsidies of up to 50% for participation costs.

This initiative aims to boost the visibility of Tunisian products in Algeria, foster new business partnerships, and explore opportunities for expansion into regional and international markets. Previous participation in trade fairs has already led to significant agreements, including a textile company's plans to establish a presence in Algeria following deals with an Algerian textile group and a military institution.
