Turkey accuses Netanyahu of undermining Gaza peace efforts

Turkey has accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government of sabotaging mediation efforts and pursuing policies detrimental to regional stability, following Israel's latest military strikes in the Gaza Strip. The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement asserting that these attacks demonstrate the Israeli government's lack of intention to achieve peace with the Palestinians.

Ankara claims that Netanyahu's primary goal is to displace Palestinians from their homeland and hinder the establishment of peace and stability in the region. The ministry further alleged that Netanyahu is weakening the region's fragile balance and obstructing mediation initiatives, particularly those led by the United States. Turkey urged the international community to adopt a more determined stance against what it termed Netanyahu's "expansionist and militarist approach."

Israel, however, maintains that its military operations in Gaza are focused on dismantling Hamas and its governing capabilities. The Turkish statement was released amid ongoing diplomatic efforts involving the U.S. and regional mediators aimed at advancing negotiations for a ceasefire and the release of hostages.
