Turkey Fights 260 Fires in Three Days, 258 Under Control

Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı reported on the nation's battle against wildfires, stating that 260 fires, both within and outside forest areas, have been fought since July 29. Yumaklı confirmed that 258 of these fires are now under control, expressing gratitude for the progress. He specifically mentioned that the fires in Balıkesir Gömeç and Mersin Aydıncık-Gülnar, previously reported as largely contained, are now fully under control.

The minister's statement highlighted the significant number of incidents, with 162 fires occurring in non-forest areas. The ongoing efforts to combat the remaining blazes underscore the challenges faced in controlling wildfires, particularly when wind conditions exacerbate their spread. The successful containment of the majority of fires reflects the dedication of the response teams.
