Turkey: New Party committee memberships determined in parliament

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) conducted elections to assign committee memberships to the newly formed "New Party" group. These elections filled vacant positions within various parliamentary committees, determining the party's representation in key oversight and legislative bodies.

The General Assembly, chaired by Deputy Speaker Celal Adan, reviewed and approved the candidate lists presented. The process allocated seats across a range of crucial committees, reflecting the New Party's integration into the parliamentary structure.

Specific committees saw new members appointed. For instance, the Constitution Committee's new members include Umut Akdoğan, Bülent Tezcan, Servet Mullaoğlu, and Gökçe Gökçen. The Justice Committee's new members are Süleyman Bülbül, Turan Taşkın Özer, İsmail Atakan Ünver, and Cumhur Uzun. The National Defense Committee welcomed Uğur Bayraktutan, Aşkın Genç, Metin İlhan, and Eylem Ertuğ Ertuğrul. The Internal Affairs Committee's new members are Evrim Karakoz, Melih Meriç, Mehmet Salih Uzun, and Murat Çan.

Further appointments were made to the Foreign Affairs Committee (Bilal Bilici, Talih Özcan, Namık Tan, Utku Çakırözer), the National Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports Committee (İsmet Güneşhan, Hikmet Yalım Halıcı, Yüksel Taşkın, Suat Özçağdaş), and the Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information, and Technology Committee (Şeref Arpacı, Ednan Arslan, Nail Çiler, Talat Dinçer). The Petitions Committee gained İbrahim Arslan and Mustafa Erdem.

Additionally, the Planning and Budget Committee welcomed Cavit Arı, Ümit Özlale, Özgür Karabat, Ahmet Vehbi Bakırlıoğlu, and Tahsin Ocaklı. The Public Economic Enterprises Committee members are Orhan Sümer, İzzet Akbulut, Mustafa Sarıgül, Mehmet Tahtasız, and Deniz Yavuzyılmaz. The Women and Men Equal Opportunity Committee includes Gamze Taşcıer, Aliye Timisi Ersever, Türkan Elçi, and Ayça Taşkent. Finally, the EU Harmonization Committee members are Özgür Erdem İncesu, Yüksel Taşkın, Mehmet Salih Uzun, and Fahri Özkan. The Digital Platforms Commission also saw appointments, including Okan Konuralp, Hasan Öztürk, and Ahmet Tuncay Özkan.
