Turkey's framework law on national solidarity published; Erdoğan vows continued diligence

A significant framework law, designed to bolster national solidarity and social cohesion in Turkey, has been published in the Official Gazette after receiving broad approval in parliament. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the legislation, signaling its enactment.

The law, which passed the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the support of 467 lawmakers, addresses the sensitivities of the nation, particularly those of martyrs' families and veterans. President Erdoğan stated on social media that the process leading to this law was conducted with great care, considering the concerns of all citizens.

"I wish for this Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion to be beneficial," Erdoğan posted. He extended his sincere thanks to all political parties and deputies who contributed to its passage, highlighting it as an example of historical consensus. He specifically acknowledged the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and its leader, Devlet Bahçeli, as coalition partners, as well as Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and members of the AK Party group.

Erdoğan also commended the state institutions and officials for their role in bringing the law to fruition without incident. He reiterated the government's commitment to managing the process ahead with the same sincerity and meticulousness, operating within the legal framework and under the guidance of relevant bodies. The President emphasized that this step is crucial for Turkey's peaceful, prosperous, and secure future.
