Turkey's Health Ministry launches 'e-Rapor System' for digital sick leave

Turkey's Ministry of Health has introduced a new digital system for managing sick leave reports, marking a significant shift towards efficiency in healthcare administration. The 'e-Rapor System' aims to simplify the process for both healthcare providers and patients.

Citizens will be able to access their sick leave reports via e-Devlet. The new regulation will allow for faster and more practical processing of transactions.

Under the new system, eligible individuals such as students, those under 18, civil servants, public officials, tradespeople, and self-employed professionals can benefit from electronic sick leave reports. Citizens will be able to access their reports conveniently through the e-Devlet (e-Government) portal. This digital approach is designed to expedite procedures and make them more practical.

The e-Rapor System allows authorized physicians across all health service providers to issue sick leave reports electronically. These reports are securely recorded and can be verified through the 'e-Rapor Verification Service.' A key advantage is the elimination of the need for printed copies, further speeding up the process.

Sick leave reports, which can be issued by physicians working in all health service providers authorized by the Ministry of Health, are securely recorded in electronic environment, and reports can be verified through the 'e-Rapor Verification Service.' Furthermore, printed output is not required for sick leave reports issued in electronic environment, allowing for faster transactions.

It is important to note that the e-Rapor System differs in scope from sick leave reports issued by the Social Security Institution (SGK). For individuals eligible for temporary incapacity benefits under Law No. 5510, such as insured workers (4/A) and voluntarily insured individuals (4/B), their sick leave reports will continue to be issued through the SGK system.

The sick leave reports for insured workers (4/A) under Law No. 5510 on Social Insurance and General Health Insurance and for voluntarily insured individuals (4/B) who are entitled to receive temporary incapacity benefits will continue to be issued through the SGK system.
