Turkey’s weather service forecasts showers and thunderstorms in several regions on Sept. 5

Turkey will remain warmer than normal on Saturday, Sept. 5, with temperatures forecast to run 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above seasonal averages.

The Meteorological General Directorate expects partly cloudy skies across much of the country. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast in inland parts of the western Mediterranean, the Taurus area of the eastern Mediterranean, the eastern Black Sea coast and elevated parts of the central Black Sea region.

Hatay’s coastal areas, Osmaniye, Denizli, Artvin, Kars and Ardahan are also expected to see localized showers and thunderstorms. Rain may be locally heavy around Rize and Artvin.

In the Marmara region, Istanbul is forecast to reach 32 degrees Celsius, while Bursa and Çanakkale could reach 33 degrees and Kırklareli 34 degrees. In the Aegean, temperatures are expected to reach 34 degrees in Izmir and Denizli, 36 degrees in Manisa and 32 degrees in Uşak.

Antalya is forecast to reach 31 degrees, Adana 35 degrees and Hatay 31 degrees. Ankara is expected to reach 31 degrees, while Samsun and Sinop could reach 29 degrees. Winds will generally come from the north, with southerly winds in southern areas, mostly light and occasionally moderate.
