Turkey weather forecast for Sept. 2: Showers expected in northern and eastern areas

Turkey’s northern and eastern regions will have partly cloudy, and in some areas heavily cloudy, weather on Sept. 2, according to the Meteorological General Directorate. Much of the rest of the country is expected to remain lightly cloudy or clear.

The forecast calls for local showers and thunderstorms along the eastern Black Sea coast, around Ordu and Artvin, in Mersin’s Toroslar area, and across Erzurum, Kars, Ardahan, Ağrı and Van. Morning haze and occasional fog are also expected in eastern Marmara, western Thrace and around Bolu.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 31°C in Istanbul, 36°C in Izmir, 39°C in Antalya, 32°C in Ankara and 38°C in Adana. In southeastern Turkey, highs are expected to reach 37°C in Diyarbakır and Gaziantep, and 38°C in Şanlıurfa.

The eastern Black Sea will remain partly to heavily cloudy, with Rize and Trabzon among the places facing local showers and thunderstorms. Eastern Anatolia will also remain cloudy, with similar conditions forecast around Erzurum, Kars and Van.
