Turkey Weather Forecast: Widespread Rain and Thunderstorms Expected May 25

Turkey's General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued a weather forecast for May 25, 2026, predicting a day of widespread unsettled weather across the country. Most regions are expected to experience intermittent showers and thunderstorms.

The forecast indicates that the western Marmara region, the Aegean coast, and Antalya will largely remain dry. However, the rest of the country is anticipated to face rainfall. Notably, the inland areas of the Eastern Mediterranean, the higher elevations of the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions, and provinces such as Sakarya, Düzce, Zonguldak, Bartın, Karabük, and Bolu could experience locally heavy downpours.

MGM has issued a warning for these areas, urging caution due to the potential for adverse effects from the strong rainfall. Residents are advised to be prepared for any disruptions that may arise.

Temperatures are expected to be below seasonal averages in the eastern parts of Turkey. In contrast, other regions will experience temperatures generally in line with seasonal norms. The wind is predicted to be light to moderate, blowing from the north and northwest in the northern and western parts of the country, and from the south in the southern and eastern areas.
