Turkey Weather Report: Scattered Showers in Northeast, Strong Winds in Marmara

Turkey's General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued its weather report for August 1, 2026, predicting mostly clear and partly cloudy conditions across the nation. However, several northeastern areas are expected to see some rainfall.

The forecast indicates that the Eastern Black Sea coastal areas, along with the provinces of Ordu, Artvin, Kars, and Ardahan, may experience scattered showers and thunderstorms. Similar weather is anticipated in parts of Samsun's interior, southern Iğdır, and eastern Ağrı.

Temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged, with winds generally blowing from the south in southern and eastern regions at a light to moderate pace. A notable exception is the Marmara region, where strong northeasterly winds are forecast, reaching speeds of 30-50 km/h.

MGM has issued a warning for the Marmara region due to the anticipated strong winds, advising residents to be cautious and take necessary precautions against potential negative impacts. The rest of the country, including the Aegean, Mediterranean, and Central Anatolia regions, is expected to have clear skies with minimal cloud cover.
