Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan to Visit Egypt for Four-Way Talks

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to visit Cairo for a trilateral meeting with his Egyptian, Pakistani, and Saudi Arabian counterparts on June 20-21. The gathering, part of a four-nation ministerial dialogue, will address pressing regional issues, including the recent Iran-US conflict resolution.

Fidan plans to express Turkey's satisfaction with the memorandum of understanding that ended the conflict, highlighting the mediation efforts of Pakistan and other involved nations. He will reiterate Turkey's commitment to facilitating a lasting peace agreement and stress the need for vigilance against factors that could jeopardize reconciliation.

The minister will also emphasize the significance of coordinated action among the participating countries to bolster regional ties and collectively overcome crises. The meeting is expected to explore institutionalizing this four-nation format and potentially expanding it to include new members.

A key agenda item will be the situation in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Lebanon. Fidan intends to call for increased international pressure on the Israeli government to cease its actions. He will underscore that a two-state solution for the Palestinian issue is crucial for peace and stability in the Middle East, pledging continued efforts with regional partners to achieve this goal.
