TV host takes her co-star on a new tour of Tainan’s coast and old city

Tuan Huilin took her Go Go Taiwan co-host Yu Sida on a full-day tour of Tainan’s coast and historic city, turning a promotional appearance into a broad summer itinerary.

The two began in Beimen, where they rode bicycles from the visitor center along the Jingzaijiao cycling route. The ride passed salt-industry landscapes, the Crystal Church and wetlands. Huilin said cycling offered more than transportation because moving slowly allowed visitors to notice the sea breeze, salt fields, settlements and traces of local industries.

Water activities followed at a recreational space converted from fish ponds. The hosts tried stand-up paddleboarding and kart boats, with Yu, who already enjoys surfing and fishing, calling the experience especially enjoyable. They also sampled Tainan summer desserts made with local ingredients including aiyu jelly, Guanmiao pineapple, osmanthus and mango.

The food stops continued with milkfish and fresh oysters from the Beimen area. In the afternoon, the pair boarded a yacht at Anping Harbor, where they enjoyed the sea breeze and watched the sunset. They stayed overnight in Tainan and explored city lanes the next day, taking in a different pace of life from the daytime coastal activities.

They later returned to Beimen to view reflections across the Jingzaijiao tiled salt fields and take part in the Taiwan Midsummer Festival’s Main Beach Day. The route connected cycling, water sports, food and sunset views across the coast and the city.
