TV Star Yu Xiang-chuan Capsizes Three Times While Kayaking; Li Ya-ying Playfully Declares 'I Am Taiwanese!'

The cast and guests of the variety show "Variety New Era" embarked on an adventure in Gongliao, New Taipei City, starting from the easternmost San Diao Jiao Lighthouse. Host Ah Xiang introduced the location, noting that witnessing the sunrise here would mark witnessing Taiwan's first dawn.

Their first destination was "Golden Silver Island." Before setting off, the group discussed their dreams if they were to find treasure. Li Ya-ying humorously wished to buy her own house, while Lemon declared he would buy the entire island. Yang Xiu-hui, however, was already seen carrying a large treasure chest, ready to fill it with riches.

Guided by "Captain Eason," the group took to kayaks to reach the island. A prerequisite for the journey was learning self-rescue techniques. Ironically, Yu Xiang-chuan became the first participant to demonstrate these skills when his kayak capsized shortly after he boarded. He fell into the water multiple times, leading him to exclaim, "I've really learned how to save myself now!"

Ah Xiang then playfully pushed Yu Xiang-chuan into the water a third time, referencing him as the brother of world Mahjong bronze medalist Yu Xiao-ping. Frustrated, Yu Xiang-chuan turned to Li Ya-ying, jokingly asking for help from a "foreign friend." Li Ya-ying immediately responded in clear Mandarin, "I am Taiwanese! I am from New Taipei!" Her adorable reaction amused everyone, with Lemon quipping, "Your Mandarin suddenly got so good!"

During the boat division, Lemon and Li Ya-ying paired up, as did Ah Xiang and Yang Xiu-hui. Yu Xiang-chuan was assigned to a boat with the "boss" – a Shiba Inu brought by coach Eason, who joined the treasure hunt. The group also playfully asked Li Ya-ying how to say "Shiba Inu" in Korean, and her hesitant response, sounding similar to a Korean curse word, caused a stir before she clarified it wasn't.

Upon reaching Golden Silver Island, Eason explained its name comes from the coral sand that shines like gold under the sun, combined with the silver gleam of the reefs. The group enjoyed the island's natural beauty, visited the lighthouse, and experienced snorkeling, soaking in the coastal scenery of Gongliao.
