Twins pitcher Go Woo-seok suspended 10 games for foreign substance

Minnesota Twins pitcher Go Woo-seok has been suspended for 10 games in the minor leagues after being ejected for using a foreign substance. The umpires discovered the substance in his glove during a game on May 25, leading to his immediate removal from the match. The glove was confiscated and sent to Major League Baseball headquarters for examination.

Using sticky substances like rosin to increase a baseball's spin rate is strictly prohibited in professional baseball, as it can enhance a pitcher's velocity or the effectiveness of breaking balls. Go Woo-seok, who joined the Twins organization this year, made his MLB debut on May 10. However, after a difficult outing on May 21 where he allowed three runs, he was sent back to the minor leagues.

The suspension, confirmed by Minnesota regional media on May 27, was retroactively applied starting from the May 26 game. Go Woo-seok has chosen to accept the penalty without lodging an appeal. He has appeared in four MLB games for the Twins, recording a 9.00 ERA with one hold.
