Two 17-year-olds jailed in attempted murder case near youth club

Two 17-year-old boys are being held in custody for four weeks after a stabbing incident near Islev School in Rødovre. The arrests followed a knife attack last Wednesday that left a 16-year-old boy with a punctured lung. He was, however, reported to be out of danger shortly after the incident.

The two suspects were apprehended last Thursday and initially detained for three days. A judge ordered their remand on Monday, extending their custody as the investigation continues. According to the indictment, one of the 17-year-olds held the victim while the other inflicted the stab wounds. Both have pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges.

The case has been subject to a gag order, preventing the publication of any information that could identify the minors involved. Court hearings on Friday and Monday were held behind closed doors, meaning details of the evidence or the suspects' statements remain private. The prosecution had indicated that further witness testimonies were still needed.

Rødovre Municipality Mayor Britt Jensen commented on the incident via Facebook last week, noting that approximately 30 young people were present when the attack occurred. The court's decision to remand the suspects allows police more time to investigate the case thoroughly.
