Two accidents in Quito injure seven people Friday night

Two separate traffic accidents in Quito on Friday, June 19, 2026, left seven individuals injured. The first incident occurred at 6:39 PM in the San Juan tunnel, where a collision involving three vehicles resulted in three injuries. Emergency services provided pre-hospital care to the wounded, and traffic flow was partially maintained during the response.

Approximately one hour later, another accident was reported in the Luluncoto sector, at the intersection of Juan Bautista Aguirre and Pedro Pinto avenues. This incident involved a pedestrian being struck. Four people were affected: one adult woman and three minors. Paramedics assessed all patients at the scene, and they were reported to be in stable condition.

During the Luluncoto incident, traffic on Pedro Pinto Avenue was partially restricted. Once emergency services completed their work, the road was fully reopened. Officials reiterated their call for drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and exercise caution to prevent such incidents on the capital's roads.
