Two arrested with over a kilo of cocaine in Buenos Aires car stop

A routine police checkpoint in Buenos Aires' Parque Chacabuco neighborhood led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of over a kilogram of cocaine. The arrested pair, a 25-year-old man with previous minor offenses for acting as a "trapito" (parking attendant) and a 23-year-old Bolivian woman, were traveling in a gray Fiat Siena when intercepted by officers from the City Police's South Zone Anti-Drug Division.

The discovery occurred on Cachimayo Street, where police stopped the vehicle for a routine check. During the inspection, officers found a compact package wrapped in yellow paper between the rear seat and the trunk. The package, weighing 1062 grams, was identified as cocaine.

Adding a significant detail to the investigation, the "brick" of cocaine bore a stamped image of a dolphin. Police sources indicated this mark is associated with drug trafficking cells operating in South America and is linked to an organization connected to Reynaldo Delfín Castedo, known as the "Patrón del Norte" (Northern Boss).

In addition to the cocaine, police confiscated the Fiat Siena and two cell phones, which will undergo forensic analysis. The case has been handed over to the West Flagrancy Unit of the City Public Ministry, whose prosecutor ordered the detention of the vehicle's occupants. Investigators are working to establish the drug's origin, destination, and the specific roles of the arrested individuals.
