Two dancers fall from stage during K-pop contest in La Plata

Two participants in a K-pop dance competition in La Plata, Argentina, were injured on Saturday after a section of the stage gave way during their performance. The incident took place at the Centro Cultural Pasaje Dardo Rocha, where the La Plata Comic pop culture event is being held.

The kids are fine, both of them. We waited for the ambulance that arrived and attended to them. They also gave us a report, and the idea was for them to be calm and their families too. Luckily, they were not serious injuries, just two bruises: one of the kids on the arm and another on the leg. The doctor recommended painkillers and ice, in a few days they should improve.

The two dancers were assisted by SAME personnel after suffering minor injuries to an arm and a leg. According to the portal 0221, the stage malfunction occurred while three young people were performing a choreography. A wooden plank of the stage structure broke, causing two of the dancers to fall into the central hall of the building.

Federico Martorana, the event organizer, confirmed that neither participant sustained serious injuries. He stated that the doctor recommended painkillers and ice, and they should recover within days. Martorana assured that the organization would cover any expenses arising from the accident and would continue to support the two young people throughout their recovery.

We are in contact with the kids, we want to assist them in whatever is needed and we will cover all costs that arise. The idea is that they feel supported by us. The important thing is that they are well. Until they fully recover, both we and the people from the Pasaje and the Secretariat will accompany them.

Cristian Scarpetta, the director of the Pasaje Dardo Rocha, indicated that the stage defect was caused by a broken plank. He confirmed that the injured did not require hospitalization. Following the incident, authorities mandated that the stage structure be dismantled and reassembled before the event could continue. The producers complied, and the stage was rebuilt overnight.
