Two Dead, 16 Injured in Istanbul Bus Crash; Interior Footage Released

A tragic accident in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district claimed the lives of two people and left 16 others injured when an İETT public bus veered off the road and collided with a garden wall. The incident unfolded on Kennedy Street around 5 p.m. when the bus driver, identified as A.G., reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Initial reports suggest the driver was attempting to maneuver away from a car that had cut into his lane. The sudden swerve caused the bus to mount the curb and crash into the wall of a residential complex. Emergency services, including firefighters, police, and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, two passengers, Solmaz Karadoğan and another individual, were pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver sustained severe injuries, and 16 passengers were also wounded in the collision. The crash led to the closure of all lanes on the side road of Kennedy Street, causing significant traffic disruptions. Authorities have since removed the bus from the site. Dramatic interior camera footage from the bus has surfaced, showing the car's maneuver and the subsequent loss of control by the bus driver, culminating in the impact with the wall.
