Two dead in two-vehicle crash on Jalan Taiping-Bagan Serai

Two people died in a two-vehicle crash on Jalan Taiping-Bagan Serai on Tuesday afternoon. The accident involved a Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Innova.

Upon arrival, there was a male victim aged 66 years inside the Perodua Myvi car trapped in the driver's side and was unconscious.

According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Deputy Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, the emergency services received a call about the incident at 4:56 PM. Upon arrival, firefighters found a 66-year-old male driver trapped in the Perodua Myvi, unconscious. A 51-year-old female passenger from the same vehicle had already been extricated by bystanders.

Another victim, a 51-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Perodua Myvi, had been removed by the public.

Both occupants of the Perodua Myvi were pronounced dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Their bodies were subsequently handed over to the police for further action.

The driver of the Toyota Innova, a 46-year-old male, suffered minor injuries. He managed to exit his vehicle on his own before the arrival of emergency personnel and was transported to Parit Buntar Hospital for treatment via the Emergency Medical Services (EMRS) unit.
