Two fishing boats catch fire at Da Nang’s Tho Quang fishing port

Two fishing boats suddenly caught fire while moored at Tho Quang fishing port in Da Nang, with the flames spreading from one vessel to the other. The Sơn Trà Border Guard Station said it coordinated with other agencies to handle the incident.

Authorities detected the fire at about 7 p.m. on September 7. The boats, identified as ĐNa 902xx and ĐNa 908xx, had been moored at the port for a long period. Both were owned by 62-year-old residents of Sơn Trà Ward.

After receiving the report, the Sơn Trà border guards sent two vessels and 10 officers and soldiers to the scene. Da Nang’s police fire prevention and rescue forces also arrived and deployed measures to control the blaze and stop it spreading to nearby fishing boats.

The fire was completely extinguished and caused no loss of life. Property damage had not yet been determined. After containing the blaze, the authorities continued work to prevent the boats from sinking and limit losses for their owners. The cause remained under investigation.
