Two injured, one in custody in shooting on Calgary LRT platform: police

A dispute between three individuals on a Calgary LRT train culminated in a shooting on the Victoria Park/Stampede station platform Saturday night, leaving two people injured. The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. just outside the BMO Centre.

According to police, the argument started on the train, and when the trio disembarked at the Victoria/Stampede station, one of them produced a firearm and shot the other two before fleeing the scene. A passerby reported hearing approximately six gunshots.

Both victims were transported to Foothills Hospital. While one was initially in life-threatening condition, their status has since been upgraded to stable. Authorities located and arrested the alleged shooter in the downtown area without incident.

The Calgary Police Service is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Further details regarding the motive and the identities of those involved have not yet been released.
