Two Jamaicans selected for Yale cultural heritage fellowship

Two prominent Jamaican cultural heritage leaders have earned a place in Yale University’s prestigious Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (IPCH) Directors Forum (YDF). Dr. Kirt Henry, director of the African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica/Jamaica Memory Bank, and Faith Anderson, director of Liberty Hall: The Legacy of Marcus Garvey, are among the 12 fellows chosen for the program's second cohort.

Their selection makes them the sole representatives from the Caribbean region participating in this international fellowship. The YDF brings together 12 fellows from nine countries across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in cultural heritage preservation.

This international recognition highlights the significant contributions of Jamaican cultural institutions and their leaders on a global stage. The fellowship provides a valuable opportunity for Dr. Henry and Ms. Anderson to engage with international peers and advance their work in preserving Jamaica's rich cultural heritage.
