Two men charged with homicide in death on Funen island

Two men are facing charges of homicide after a man died in Harndrup on the island of Funen on Saturday evening. A 46-year-old and a 25-year-old man were arrested on Saturday and have been charged with assault resulting in death.

The deceased's age is currently unknown, and it remains unclear if the accused men knew the victim. Police suspect the men inflicted numerous blows to the victim's head and body. According to the charges, these assaults continued even after the victim was on the ground and unable to defend himself.

Fyns Politi (Funen Police) has declined to comment on the ongoing case. The court hearing on Sunday is being held behind closed doors at the request of the prosecution, citing the early stage of the investigation. This means the public will not have access to the evidence presented against the two men or their statements.

Fyens Stiftstidende reported that the prosecution requested the closed-door hearing to protect the investigation's progress. Police are still in the process of interviewing witnesses. Harndrup is a small town with just over 600 residents, located in Middelfart Municipality.
