Two men rescued from drowning incidents in Lithuania

Emergency services in Lithuania responded to two separate drowning incidents on the evening of June 28, successfully rescuing two men. The incidents occurred in Prienai and Kaunas, with both individuals receiving medical attention following their rescue.

In Prienai, firefighters were alerted around 8 p.m. to a man potentially drowning in the river near Kranto Street, close to the gastrobar "Teka teka." Upon arrival, rescuers found the man, born in 1963, approximately 5 meters from the riverbank. He was extracted from the water and resuscitation efforts were initiated until medical personnel arrived. The man was subsequently transported to a hospital for further treatment.

Later that evening, at approximately 11 p.m., a second rescue operation took place in Kaunas. Lifeguards were called to Lampėdžiai pond on Riešės Street, where a man was found drowning about 2 meters from the shore. Rescuers quickly pulled him from the water, applied a neck brace, and placed him on a rescue board. The man was conscious when he was handed over to paramedics at the scene.
