Two Minor Girls Prepared for Suicide Attacks Rescued in Balochistan, Home Minister Claims

Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langau announced on Saturday that security forces successfully thwarted a plot by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to use two young girls in suicide attacks in the southern region of the province.

Addressing reporters in Quetta, Langau identified the girls as 16-year-old Zainab and her 12-year-old cousin Fatima. He claimed they were allegedly being indoctrinated and prepared for suicide missions after members of their families had been killed.

According to the minister, security agencies, acting on "sensitive intelligence," executed an intelligence-based operation in southern Balochistan. This operation led to the safe recovery of the girls while they were reportedly being moved between locations.

Langau highlighted the incident as evidence of the security institutions' proactive role, not only in responding to terrorist acts but also in preventing planned attacks through intelligence-driven operations. He further stated that BLA members had targeted the girls' families before attempting to recruit them.
