Two Russian Mi-17V-5 Helicopters Strengthen Indonesian Army Aviation

The Indonesian Army Aviation Center (Puspenerbad) has bolstered its fleet with the arrival of two Mi-17V-5 helicopters manufactured in Russia. These advanced aircraft were successfully delivered to the Ahmad Yani Army Airbase in Semarang, Central Java. Following their arrival, the helicopters underwent mandatory flight tests, a standard procedure for serial production aircraft before they are officially accepted into service.

According to Business Gazeta, the acceptance flights were completed over the weekend. The Mi-17V-5 is a versatile military transport helicopter known for its robust design and operational capabilities. Skadron 31 holds the distinction of being the only unit within the Indonesian Army's Aviation Center to operate the Mi-17 series of helicopters.
