Two state employees arrested in Osh region on suspicion of demanding bribes

Authorities in Kyrgyzstan's Osh region have apprehended two state employees from the Töö-Moyun rural administrative district on suspicion of bribery. The State Committee for National Security (UKMK) announced that it had halted illegal activities by officials in the Aravan district.

The arrests were made as part of an investigation into a criminal case under Article 343 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, which pertains to demanding bribes. The two officials, identified as the responsible secretary G. U. A. and the deputy head I. M. A. of the Töö-Moyun rural administration, were caught red-handed on August 12 while accepting a significant amount of money.

Investigators believe the bribe was solicited to expedite the process of transferring a land plot. The money was allegedly demanded in exchange for favorably resolving the issue of moving an existing construction from one plot of land to another.

Operational and investigative measures are continuing as authorities work to identify any other individuals who may have been involved in the alleged bribery scheme. The investigation aims to uncover the full extent of the corruption within the local administration.
