Two teenagers killed, one injured in three-motorcycle crash in Malaysia

A tragic accident involving three motorcycles in Kuala Nerus, Malaysia, has resulted in the deaths of two teenagers and left a third seriously injured. The collision occurred on Jalan Kampung Pecah Rotan, Batu Rakit, around 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as Muhamad Hazim Mohd. Zawawi, 17, who worked as a shop assistant, and Muhammad Rifqi Rayyan Abdul Rahim, 14, a student at SMK Batu Rakit. Both were pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

The injured rider, Muhammad Harris Iman Fadillah, 15, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Muhammad Harris was riding his Honda EX5 motorcycle straight when it was rear-ended by Muhamad Hazim's SYM BX110. The impact caused Muhammad Harris's motorcycle to swerve into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with Muhammad Rifqi Rayyan's Yamaha Ego Avantiz. Authorities reported that none of the three motorcyclists held a valid driving license. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
