Typhoon Baile Nears Taiwan, Northern Regions Face Increased Impact Risk

The typhoon "Baile" is currently located 1,680 kilometers east of Taipei, moving west at 19 kilometers per hour. The Central Weather Administration forecasts that the typhoon will continue its westward path before trending northward over the weekend. However, the forecast's 120-hour error margin remains large, with its potential path encompassing areas from northern Taiwan to Shanghai, China.

Northern Taiwan is facing an increasing risk of typhoon impact. The probability of being affected is over 35% for six cities and counties, including Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung, Taoyuan, Yilan, and Lienchiang. Keelung has the highest probability at 44%, followed by Taipei and Lienchiang at 40%, and New Taipei at 38%. Other areas like Taoyuan and Yilan are at 36% and 35% respectively.

The typhoon is currently classified as a moderate typhoon with a central pressure of 945 millibars and maximum sustained winds of 45 meters per second. Its storm radius is approximately 320 kilometers. While the storm is considered mid-tier among moderate typhoons, its broad storm radius poses a significant threat to surrounding regions.
