Tyson Fury defeats Mariusz Wach in Thailand tune-up bout ahead of Joshua showdown

Tyson Fury secured a tune-up victory over Polish opponent Mariusz Wach in a boxing match at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand. Wach retired at the start of the eighth round, marking his eighth loss in his last 10 fights. The bout was not televised but will be included in the upcoming Netflix reality series “At Home with the Furys,” which documented Fury's life. Approximately 1,500 fans attended the event.

Fury, who turns 38 in August, now boasts 36 professional wins, with his only losses in 2024 against Oleksandr Usyk. He had previously announced his return to boxing in January after retiring in December 2024 following his loss to Usyk in a fight for three major world titles. Fury is a two-time world champion, famously ending Wladimir Klitschko's reign in 2015 to claim the Super WBA, IBF, and WBO titles.

His comeback sets the stage for a highly anticipated fight against fellow former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Joshua is scheduled to fight Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Fury's career has seen a dramatic arc, including a thrilling trilogy with Deontay Wilder, which resulted in a draw and two victories for Fury, securing him the WBC title.
