U.S. Completes Strikes Against Iran in Response to Apache Helicopter Downing

The United States has executed retaliatory strikes against Iranian targets, fulfilling President Donald Trump's order in response to the previous day's downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of these attacks on Tuesday.

According to the military command, U.S. forces employed precision-guided munitions launched from Air Force and Navy fighter jets. The targets included Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and surveillance radars situated near the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM characterized the operation as a "proportional" response to recent aggressions against American forces and commercial vessels traversing the region's waters. The command affirmed that U.S. troops remain vigilant and prepared to counter any further actions deemed hostile by Iran.

The downed helicopter fell near the coast of Oman, but both U.S. soldiers aboard were successfully rescued. President Trump had previously stated on his Truth Social platform that "the United States must, necessarily, respond to this attack." These developments occur amidst heightened tensions in the region, including recent exchanges of fire between Iran and Israel, prompting Trump to call for an "immediate" cessation of hostilities from all parties.
