This message emerged shortly after López Beltrán, son of former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, publicly demanded an explanation for the visa cancellation. In a letter addressed to President Donald Trump, López Beltrán questioned whether Trump was aware of the decision and requested Landau's dismissal, holding him and Senator Marco Rubio responsible.

The U.S. has not provided a specific reason for revoking López Beltrán's visa. A spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, speaking anonymously, reiterated that visa records are confidential under U.S. law and declined to discuss specific cases.
