UAE crowned Jiu-Jitsu World Champions in two divisions on home soil

The United Arab Emirates celebrated a triumphant conclusion to the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship, with its national teams clinching world titles in both the Adult and Under-21 Newaza categories. The host nation showcased its prowess on home soil, delivering a dominant performance throughout the nine-day competition held at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Fueled by the support of the home crowd and sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, the UAE athletes delivered exceptional results. The national team secured an impressive haul of 65 medals overall. This included 18 gold, 17 silver, and 30 bronze medals, underscoring the depth of talent across various age groups and disciplines.

The Adult Team's victory in the Newaza world title was a significant highlight. Furthermore, the UAE team topped the overall Adult standings across all disciplines, even though they only competed in Newaza. This achievement demonstrates the strength and dedication of the UAE's athletes. The Under-21 Team's success in the Newaza competition added a second world title for the hosts, signaling a bright future for the sport in the region and confirming the emergence of a strong next generation of Emirati Jiu-Jitsu talent.
