UAE expands its global network of economic, trade partnerships

The United Arab Emirates is strategically broadening its network of economic and trade alliances across the globe. This initiative is central to the nation's strategy of strengthening its economy's openness, diversifying export destinations, and elevating the competitiveness of its private sector and national products. The UAE aims to solidify its standing as a premier global center for trade and investment through these concerted efforts.

Since the launch of its Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) program in September 2021, the UAE has successfully inked 38 such agreements. These pacts span a wide array of markets throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe, among other regions. A growing number of these agreements have already taken effect, providing UAE businesses with tangible benefits such as improved market access, reduced customs duties, and fewer trade barriers.

This expansion of the UAE's partnership network coincides with remarkable performance in its non-oil foreign trade. During the first half of 2026, this sector achieved record levels, reaching Dhs1.937 trillion. Furthermore, non-oil exports have shown consistent growth, amounting to approximately Dhs452.8 billion. These figures underscore the success of the UAE's economic diversification and international trade strategies.
