UAE Ministry of Defence launches 'Beladi' program for national talent development

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence has initiated the 'Beladi' program, a strategic endeavor designed to cultivate national talent and bolster the country's defense capabilities. This program underscores a long-term vision focused on investing in human capital, aiming to equip young Emiratis with essential leadership skills, technical expertise, and practical knowledge necessary for national service.

The program's launch involved a thorough Leadership Competency Assessment phase. Promising Emirati candidates underwent a series of evaluations, including psychological, physical, and cognitive tests, complemented by interviews and field assessments. These measures are intended to identify individual strengths and guide participants toward career paths aligned with their potential and interests.

Spanning 11 months, 'Beladi' is integrated into the national service pathway. Its inaugural year features specialized training modules, with plans for expansion in future phases to meet evolving national capability development objectives. Participants will receive intensive instruction from experienced leaders and instructors within the UAE Armed Forces, blending theoretical coursework with practical application.

The 'Beladi' program seeks to establish a lasting impact by fostering a stronger connection between participants and the military establishment. It aims to develop a skilled operational reserve force, thereby enhancing national readiness. The initiative also promotes values of national responsibility, belonging, and service, ensuring the continuous transfer of knowledge and expertise to meet future challenges.
