UAE Ministry of Education sets 13 conditions for students to get full scholarship

The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has laid out 13 general conditions for students aspiring to fully funded scholarships at top international universities. These scholarships cover bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in fields deemed critical for the nation's future. To qualify, applicants must hold UAE citizenship and fulfill all specific requirements for their chosen degree program. Crucially, they need academic acceptance from a university and program recognized by the Ministry. The field of study must also align with the country's priority sectors, and candidates must pass a personal interview and any required competency tests. Previous academic qualifications require validation by relevant authorities and the Ministry of Education. A commitment to full-time, on-campus study abroad is also mandatory. Further requirements include males providing documentation related to national service. Applicants must sign a declaration agreeing to scholarship regulations and any conditions set by the Ministry. They cannot have previously received a full scholarship or grant, domestically or internationally, nor have had a scholarship canceled by the Ministry or another sponsor. Applicants should also not have previously been on a scholarship for an equivalent or lower degree level. In a significant move to bolster the program, the Ministry announced a 50% increase in financial allocations for scholarship recipients. This enhancement aims to boost the competitiveness of national talent and support the country's future objectives. The Ministry has updated eight financial allocations to better cater to state aspirations and student needs. The updated scholarship system is designed as a comprehensive government initiative to regulate eligibility and admission criteria. It prioritizes university and major selection based on national needs, aligns specializations with labor market demands, monitors academic outcomes, and supports key economic sectors. The seven identified priority economic sectors are technology and engineering, energy, creative industries, water and environment, transportation and logistics, healthcare, and finance.
