UAE talent support committee partners with Sharjah Women's Sports

The UAE Committee for Talent and Sports Support (UAETSS), under the patronage of the Ministry of Sports, has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Sharjah Women’s Sports. These agreements are designed to bolster the development pathways for three promising young female athletes.

The supported athletes include Fatima Al Suwaidi, an under-21 shooting competitor, and under-18 archers Mona Al Shara and Samiya Odinaeva. The MoUs signify a strengthened collaboration aimed at unifying talent development strategies and advancing women's sports across the United Arab Emirates.

This partnership is a key component of the UAETSS's 'Pathway for Sports Champion' program. The program's objective is to identify and cultivate talented Emirati athletes across various sports. It also facilitates the implementation of tailored preparation plans, training regimens, and competition schedules for female athletes, working in conjunction with the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation and technical staff.

Sheikh Suhail Bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector at the Ministry of Sports and Chairman of the UAETSS, highlighted the significance of the agreements. He stated that they represent a crucial step in supporting and promoting female talent in individual sports, reflecting a commitment to expanding opportunities for women in sports through an integrated environment that fosters skill development and competitiveness.

Sheikh Suhail added, “Through these partnerships under the ‘Pathway for Sports Champion’ program, we are strengthening our commitment to developing promising athletes by providing them comprehensive development opportunities. Our goal is to guide talented athletes from the early stages of their sporting journey through to top-tier competitions, thus helping to prepare a new generation of female champions who can honourably represent the UAE and raise the national flag on international stages.” The Ministry of Sports and UAETSS also acknowledged the pioneering role of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi in establishing a comprehensive sports ecosystem that promotes female sports participation and nurtures emerging talents.
