Uba Sani gifts Kaduna pilgrims 300 Riyals each in Saudi Arabia

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State personally visited pilgrims from his state in Muna, Saudi Arabia, during the 2026 Hajj, distributing 300 Saudi Riyals (about N114,000) to each individual. The governor commended the pilgrims for their exemplary conduct throughout the religious exercise.

He also lauded the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency and the Hajj Delegation Committee for their roles in ensuring a successful and seamless Hajj operation. Governor Sani stated that his administration made significant efforts to enhance the welfare of pilgrims from Kaduna State, while also apologizing for any unintentional shortcomings.

The distance between where my tent is located and where the pilgrims are staying is estimated to be between two and three kilometres. Normally, I would have arrived here in no time. However, all roads leading to this area were blocked, and I had to trek for four to five hours before reaching here.

Governor Sani recounted the challenges he faced reaching the pilgrims' tents, explaining that road closures necessitated a four to five-hour trek. He urged the pilgrims to continue praying for peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria, emphasizing that development cannot flourish amid insecurity. He also prayed for the reform of those causing unrest and for troublemakers to be kept away from the nation.

The Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency and the Kaduna State Auditor General both praised Governor Sani's gesture, with the latter noting it as an unprecedented act of commitment and compassion, as no governor had personally visited pilgrims in their tents during Hajj since 1999. They called for continued prayers for the governor and for sustained peace and development in Kaduna State.
