UBSI Lecturers and Students Train Cikeas Villagers in Digital Business Management

Lecturers and students from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) have equipped residents of Cikeas Village in Bogor, Indonesia, with essential digital business skills. The initiative, funded by the Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Education, Higher Education, Science, and Technology, focused on empowering local entrepreneurs through online marketing and practical financial management.

During the training, participants learned how to establish and manage online shops, with an emphasis on creating appealing visual displays and setting competitive prices to thrive in the digital marketplace. "Digital marketing provides a space for local business actors to reach buyers outside their region without geographical limitations," explained presenter Cucu Ika Agustianingrum. She stressed that adapting to changing consumer behavior requires micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) to integrate digital strategies with traditional sales methods.

Agustiningrum also highlighted the importance of consistent management and meticulous product presentation for online stores. Villagers were shown how to take attractive product photos using just their smartphones. "Managing an online store is not complicated, as long as we consistently update information and respond quickly to potential buyers," she noted.

Beyond marketing, Sucitra Sahara provided training on business financial management, introducing a simple application for cash flow tracking to help residents monitor their finances systematically. The residents showed great enthusiasm, actively participating in discussions and practicing the creation of online store accounts and transaction recording. This program underscores UBSI's commitment to providing ongoing support, fostering confidence and independence among Cikeas villagers in developing their local economic potential.
