UBSI Purwokerto Students Visit Refactory to Broaden Industrial Insight

Students from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Purwokerto campus recently participated in an industry visit to Refactory in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The visit, held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, was designed for fourth-semester students from the Computer Technology and Information Systems programs to gain direct exposure to the technology industry.

Led by the Head of Campus, Vadlya Maarif, along with the heads of the Information Systems and Computer Technology study programs, the visit underscored the campus's commitment to aligning education with the evolving digital industry. Maarif emphasized that such industry visits are crucial for bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application, particularly in how technologies like artificial intelligence are implemented in software development.

At Refactory, students were welcomed by the management and received a presentation on the company's use of AI in software development. This session provided a clear picture of how AI assists in coding, enhances programmer efficiency, and accelerates the completion of technology projects. Following the presentation, students toured the company's facilities, observing the professional work environment and understanding the workflow for project development at Refactory.

After the activities at Refactory, the group visited Malioboro in Yogyakarta. This excursion served as a recreational break and an opportunity to strengthen the bond between students and their accompanying lecturers after a series of academic engagements. UBSI, as a "Creative Digital Campus," continues to offer learning programs that connect academia with industry needs, aiming to produce competent, adaptive graduates ready for the digital transformation.
