UEFA threatens FIFA and Infantino with legal action over commercial project

UEFA has formally warned FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the global football governing body that it is actively considering legal action over a proposed commercial venture. The European football confederation, a vocal critic of Infantino's plans, sent a letter to Infantino and other project stakeholders, including potential investors like Joshua Kushner and the investment bank JP Morgan.

In the letter, UEFA urged them "not to destroy any evidence" of the commercial project, known as Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE). The organization stated that any destruction or alteration of relevant materials after receiving the notification could be considered "spoliation of evidence." UEFA reserves all rights to seek appropriate remedies.

This move follows UEFA's acknowledgement of the project's withdrawal, which it had previously criticized. The confederation expressed that FIFA's current leadership has lost the trust of UEFA and many other football organizations. UEFA lamented that Infantino has "not kept any of his promises" since taking office in 2016, and his actions lack transparency.
