UFC stunned by tragedy: 34-year-old fighter dies unexpectedly

The mixed martial arts world is mourning the loss of UFC fighter Allan Nascimento, who died at the age of 34. The UFC officially announced the Brazilian's death on Monday.

Nascimento was found unconscious, with authorities suspecting he suffered a cardiac arrest while sleeping. Despite the efforts of arriving medics, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene. The UFC extended its condolences to his family, friends, and teammates. A final medical report on the exact cause of death has not yet been released.

Nascimento was recently active, having competed on June 20 in Las Vegas at a UFC Fight Night event. He lost a close three-round bout to Mitch Raposo via split decision. This was his only loss after securing four consecutive victories within the UFC.

Known by the nickname "Puro Osso" (meaning "All Bone"), Nascimento began his professional career in 2011. Across 29 professional MMA bouts, he achieved 22 wins and suffered 7 losses, forcing 16 opponents to submit. He gained wider attention in the MMA community in 2018 on Dana White's Contender Series. Although he lost his bout there, he eventually earned his way into the top MMA organization.

Since debuting in the UFC in 2021, Nascimento secured four wins and two losses. His victories included opponents like Jake Hadley, Carlos Hernandez, Jafel Filho, and Cody Durden. He was part of the renowned "Chute Boxe Diego Lima" team in Sao Paulo and trained alongside former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira, who posted an emotional farewell, calling Nascimento "a brother given to me by the fight world."
