UIMandiri Holds Inaugural Graduation, Eyes Global Collaboration

Universitas Indonesia Mandiri (UIMandiri) celebrated a historic moment with its first graduation ceremony on June 6, 2026, at its campus in Lampung Selatan. The event, themed "Strengthening Integrity, Innovation, and Collaboration in the Global Era," highlighted the university's commitment to providing quality education in Lampung.

A total of 81 graduates from six programs participated in the ceremony, representing the first and second cohorts since UIMandiri's establishment. The university currently enrolls 1,083 active students across 13 programs, supported by 67 faculty members. The graduation was attended by national and regional stakeholders, including government officials and industry partners.

UIMandiri Rector Dr. Rustono Farady Marta emphasized that graduation is not an end but a beginning for graduates to contribute to society. He highlighted the university's "GLOBAL" slogan: Gratitude, Locality, Outrage, Bravery, Adaptability. The ceremony took place in a newly completed three-story building, with an auditorium set to finish in August 2026. The university is already attracting international students from Timor Leste and students from Indonesia's eastern regions.

The university's governing foundation, Yayasan Battuta Bangun Negeri, stressed UIMandiri's role in education, research, innovation, and community service. Plans include strengthening applied research, industry collaboration, student entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and developing research areas for sustainable development. UIMandiri is also noted as fulfilling a vision by Dr. H. Zulkifli Hasan, a Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs.
