UIN KHAS Jember launches Professional Certification Institute to boost graduate competitiveness

Universitas Islam Negeri Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq (UIN KHAS) Jember has launched a Professional Certification Institute (LSP), a move aimed at significantly boosting the professional qualifications of its graduates. This initiative is designed to equip students not only with academic knowledge, evidenced by their diplomas, but also with tangible proof of their professional capabilities through competency certificates.

Dr. KH Muhammad Nur Hayid, a commissioner at the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP), lauded the establishment of the LSP, calling it a strategic step for UIN KHAS Jember. He believes the certification will instill greater confidence in graduates as they enter the workforce. "With the LSP, it is hoped that all UIN KHAS graduates will no longer worry or feel awkward when they graduate," Hayid stated, explaining that competent graduates will receive a certificate from the LSP in addition to their academic diploma.

Hayid, commonly known as Gus Hayid, highlighted that these competency certificates are crucial for graduates navigating the competitive professional landscape. They serve as evidence of not only academic understanding but also practical skills and professional conduct. The LSP is expected to strengthen UIN KHAS Jember's reputation for producing competent, professional, and competitive human resources.

However, Gus Hayid also issued a cautionary note, urging the university to diligently safeguard the integrity of the LSP's operations following its licensing by BNSP. He stressed the necessity of conducting certification processes objectively and adhering strictly to established competency standards. "We hope the mandate of the LSP through the BNSP license to UIN KHAS is truly maintained. Please ensure that those who hold competency certificates are people who are truly competent," he asserted. He further clarified that competency certificates should not be awarded merely for completing an educational program or undergoing the certification process; students must demonstrate their skills, knowledge, and attitude to meet the required standards.
